Megan E. Geigner

Theatre Scholar* Educator* Dramaturg

About Me:

I am finishing my PhD in Theatre and Drama at Northwestern University, where I teach classes on research and writing methods, feminist/gender theory and theatre, and race and theatre. My dissertation is an archival research project focusing on the way Irish, Polish, and Italian immigrants in Chicago developed hyphenated identity and became part of the cultural fabric of the city through theatrical performances. My interest in racial and national identity formation led me to being president of Northwestern's Ethnic Studies Graduate Student Colloquium, and to a programming internship at the Chicago Cultural Alliance.

While pursuing this degree I have worked at several theatres in Chicago as a dramaturg, including TimeLine Theatre and Court Theatre
